The Democratic Technology Alliance is a group bringing together four European Parliament political groups — EPP, Renew, S&D, Greens/EFA — and civil society actors to help bring democracy to technology.

We're delighted to host them on Eurosky! 💞🇪🇺

PS: public institutions should not endorse commercial providers of digital resources when they can reasonably control their own. Seems fairly obvious to me. Now that @atproto.com exists and is viable, we should regulate this and require the EC and others to run their own infrastructure.
Move to Eurosky today - hosted in Europe, governed by European law, open to everyone

Use Bluesky as normal: your data & your connections all stay the same.

More in Common has a bumper MRP out which finds that 48% of Brits would vote to rejoin the EU now — compared with 28% who would vote to remain outside the bloc.

Sentiment towards our departure has plummeted since the 2016 vote, according to the poll of nearly 7,000 adults.

How do you think your profile page could be improved?
I’m all for communities having gated spaces on this network but if your positioning is as an alternative to closed platforms like X and Facebook, you shouldn’t be gated @wsocial.eu.

You’re either open or you’re not, this half open, half closed thing isn’t good enough for a general purpose app.
As W Social is closed off unless you give them your passport and face scan, I made a little feed that shows you the trending posts there.

So you can get the experience from the comfort of Bluesky, mu, or whichever open alternative you’re using.

I love this aspect of our politics. We still got it.

This is an embarrassing image for the UK. A self-respecting British fox should be dragging Binface's contents out over the stage
Everything we’re building at @eurosky.social is possible because of the work of many others and we’re proud of it. From the AT Protocol to PDS to data tools to apps - it’s possible because of @bsky.app @blackskyweb.xyz @microcosm.blue and many others. Nothing would have been possible without them.

20,000 strong today. Thank you so much everyone for the confidence and support.

There’s still so much to do. Our commitment is to build the best open social experiences for Europe and beyond. Always for people first.
Did @vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu really give her passport and a selfie to be verified on W Social?

So, I think there are multiple dynamics at play. 🧵

First off, on-the-ground immediate response is generally lacking on Bluesky, this is a symptom of network size. The reality is that most journalists simply aren't outraged by Twitter/Musk enough yet to leave it and eschew its network effects.

What I don’t understand about Bluesky is why it’s so rubbish for news? My feed here full of dumb takes on the dumb UFC show. Have I just failed to curate as good a list as I have on Twitter? Genuinely curious about other people’s experience of trying to use it for news
On behalf of all the dog people, I am starting a petition to add puppies. If you’re with me, like this post.

Wait until all the parents realise that Starmer's ban means no more peppa pig on the iPad for toddlers.
Jetstream is a utility for developers - it turns the messy, raw stream of everything happening on the network into a clean, easy-to-read feed that apps can tap into without heavy lifting.
